چکیده

We calculate the solar-modulated energy spectra of cosmic-ray antiprotons (¯ p's) from two candidate primary sources, i.e., evaporating primordial black holes and the annihilation of neutralino dark matter, as well as for the secondary ¯ p's produced by cosmic-ray interactions with interstellar gas. A large enhancement toward the solar minimum phase emerges in the low-energy flux of ¯ p's from the primary sources, whereas the flux of the secondary ¯ p's, falling steeply below 2 GeV, does not significantly vary. This enables us to conduct a very sensitive search for primary ¯ p components by precisely measuring the ¯ p spectrum, especially at low energies, throughout the forthcoming solar minimum phase.

Propagation of Secondary Antiprotons and Cosmic Rays in the Galaxy

Recent measurements of the cosmic ray (CR) antiproton flux have been shown to challenge existing CR propagation models. It was shown that the reacceleration models designed to match secondary to primary nuclei ratios (e.g., B/C) produce too few antiprotons. In the present paper we discuss one possibility to overcome these difficulties. Using the measured antiproton flux and B/C ratio to fix the...

Antiprotons at Solar Maximum

New measurements with good statistics will make it possible to observe the time variation of cosmic antiprotons at 1 AU through the approaching peak of solar activity. We report a new computation of the interstellar antiproton spectrum expected from collisions between cosmic protons and the interstellar gas. This spectrum is then used as input to a steady-state drift model of solar modulation, ...

CuO/water Nanofluid Convective Heat Transfer Through Square Duct Under Uniform Heat Flux

Sometimes the need for non-circular ducts arises in many heat transfer applications because of lower pressure drop of non-circular cross section such as square duct compared to circular tube, particularly in compact heat. But square cross section has poor heat transfer performance and it is expected that using a nanofluid as a new heat transfer media may improve the heat transfer performance of...

Model Based Method for Determining the Minimum Embedding Dimension from Solar Activity Chaotic Time Series

Predicting future behavior of chaotic time series system is a challenging area in the literature of nonlinear systems. The prediction's accuracy of chaotic time series is extremely dependent on the model and the learning algorithm. On the other hand the cyclic solar activity as one of the natural chaotic systems has significant effects on earth, climate, satellites and space missions. Several m...

Effects of Solar Modulation on the Low-energy Cosmic-ray Antiproton/proton Ratio

We examine the transport of cosmic-ray protons and anitprotons from local interstellar space through the interplanetary medium to Earth and discuss the resulting e†ects on the low-energy antiproton/proton ratio at 1 AU. We Ðnd that the antiproton/proton ratio at energies above D3 GeV is a useful diagnostic of cosmic-ray transport in the Galaxy. However, at energies below D1 GeV the expected rat...
